Two years has gone since I post an entry. It has been two very fun and exhausted years. My little shop is expanding. Now it is public!
I got the room beside my shop and shall take up a door to it.
Probably back again..
Maud and I started our journey last saturday and come to Heathrow about one o´clock. It was pouring rain. Took the sub in to London and our hotel, a very small room to be a double room though, but very neat and comfy. The whole Hotel was just restaurated so everything was new.
Out in the rain again and into V&A. Not much to see in 18th century clothing. The whole exhibition in transformation. Looked into the shop and they have som really good books. Lost total track of time and they nearly had to push us out of the museum. Walk a lot.
Sunday; Meeting with my lacemaker. Wonderful laces of course and very pleasent persons to meet.
Monday: Denís Seevers house in London. If you get the opportunity GO THERE! What a sense of 18th century. I thrilled my nerves to go into the rooms and feel the atmosphere. Look out for the little black cat. Then the Indienquarters, looking for silk and sari´s. Looking for the shop Button-Box. They were shutdown. Walk a lot.
Tuesday: The fan-museum in Greenwich. An excellent little museum with fans to drowle over. They are so clever, they had set up mirrors behind the fans so you could see the back of them. Back to the city, looking in Harrods, Hamleys and so on. Walk a lot! To exhausted to go out and eat, a sandwish on the room.
Last day; Out again, looking at books, fabricshops in SOHO. SO EXPENSIVE! Find a old indien gentlemen that making jewellry and buttons. So now I can get "Blingbling-buttons" and 18th century jewellry maked. About 5 o clock we went back to Heathrow for checking in and strolling along. Soo many people. The plane left about 9 so back to Sweden in the middle of the night.
At home about 2. Sleeeping.
Ooh what a day! I have been on the big interior/decorating exhibition at Älvsjö today. It took me the whole day to walk around in one of the halls and there is 3!
Got lucky though. Find another silk-dealer and ribbon-maker. Looked at geourgeus other fabrics, one lace-fabric like an weil.
Tomorrow I must hurry up with Janne´s court-suit in the national dress-pattern. It is ice-blue with white trims. It is lucky that he is a tall and slim guy. If he had been a bit puffy, he had looked like a big baby..
curtains, curtains, so boooring but it is money in it.
Tomorrow there be an delivery from Denmark with fabrics, no excuisite ones, more of a kind of cottonknitting in stripes and so on. I wonder if I can do some striped stockings in it? It shoud be fun.
Just being ready with breeches and waistcoat for Bernd. The coat takes some time though.
Just starting up a new project (for Berndt it has already been a 1 years project, before he came to me). Have made an toille and fitted the waistcoat and breeches. The breeches and justacorp shall be in marine wool and the waistcoat in darkyellow shotted with dark blue spots.
